Requirements

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Proven experience in maintenance or handyman roles.

  • Previous work in a vacation rental or hospitality setting is a plus.

  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects.

  • Stamina for prolonged periods of physical activity.

  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

  • On-call availability for emergencies.

  • Driver’s License (No DUI’s)

Your Experience

 

  • Maintenance: 1 year (Preferred)

  • Demonstrated experience in general maintenance tasks (plumbing, electrical, carpentry).

  • Knowledge of HVAC systems.

  • Familiarity with pool and spa maintenance.

  • Previous experience dealing with guest requests and resolving maintenance issues promptly.

  • Strong interpersonal skills when interacting with guests, vendors, and team members.

Required Skills

 

  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing common household issues.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Meet deadlines for routine maintenance and respond promptly to urgent issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to clearly communicate maintenance needs to non-technical staff.
  • Effective problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues independently.

Good to Have

 

  • Relevant certifications in maintenance or trade skills (e.g., HVAC certification, plumbing license).
  • Familiarity with property management software.
  • Basic computer skills for logging and tracking maintenance tasks. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members.
  • Willingness to assist with tasks outside of the primary role.
  • Knowledge of additional languages to assist a diverse range of guests.
  • Training or certifications in workplace safety and OSHA standards.
